Thirteenth Exhibition
The Desire of Impermanence is an installation featuring new drawings and tapestry by British artist Peter Ibruegger.
The exhibition sees further expression of Peter’s research, exploration and fascination with archetypes. On show over both floors are a collection of one-off ink drawings characterised by Peter’s Chinese calligraphy technique richly filled with western colour palette and subject matters; a range of conceptual ceramic tiles; new developments of the Neurotic Narcissism project and a handmade patchwork tapestry. Each individual piece has been lovingly created with delicacy and devotion.
This new body of work for EXHIBIT sees Peter toy with themes of duality, repression, loss and desire. This collection was inspired by Peter’s mixed German and Chinese heritage, and his investigations into duality of symbolism across the nations. Peter’s process is one of “dialogue with environment” and he continues to dance the line between beauty, repellence and desire.
